Tom Brady is all about tackling his shortcomings.
The seven-time Super Bowl champ recently opened up about his "flaws," noting that he's trying to learn more about himself "every day."
"We should all have self-awareness, it's a hard trait to have," he said during the most recent episode of the Let's Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray podcast. "We're in a culture where it's hard to own up to things these days."
In fact, the retired NFL star—who announced his split from Gisele Bündchen in October 2022—explained that he's become even more introspective as a public figure.
"For someone like me, I'm in the public eye a lot," he continued. "I always try to say the right thing just because I don't want to deal with any more drama that's already in my life. I already have a lot of drama—just because it's life, everyone's got their own things they're dealing with."
Tom and Gisele, who are parents to son Benjamin, 13, and daughter Vivian, 10, shared their decision to divorce last year, noting that they made the choice "amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together."
Since then, the former Patriots player—who is also dad to son Jack, 16, with ex Bridget Moynahan—has been laser-focused on his post-retirement life, which includes watching his kids follow in his footsteps.
"My son is gonna play football this year, Benny," Tom said on the Sept. 4 episode of his podcast. "So, I've been throwing the ball to him in the backyard. He's gonna be a little beast. He's an amazing kid and he's got a lot of talents. He's a really talented musician and artist. And then he told me this year, ‘Dad, I'm playing football.'"
